A Sophisticated Event-Management Platform


Build an Event and e-commerce platform to manage and support an international non-profit’s annual conference.


ikonic customized a content management system to meet a complex set of requirements on the back end and front end. The project scope included building custom APIs and mapping the database architecture to uxpa.org, making it easy for existing uxpa members to register at a discounted rate. This achieved a seamless user experience from registration and checkout all the way through to accessing resources available during the conference.

User Experience

Working closely with UXPA, we configured a custom registration flow to direct attendees through a member-check API which allowed UXPA members to register at a discounted rate. The conference registration process was also highly customized to give attendees the ability to select which events they wanted to attend with costs calculated and displayed in real-time. 


Commerce Integration

On the back-end we built several dashboards to help UXPA gather customer reports and organize VAT information in a meaningful way. Due to time restrictions we also assisted in identifying a Merchant Account Plan and recommended solutions to fit UXPA's budget and international requirements.

Optimization & Personalization

The website is fully responsive. When users access the conference platform on a mobile device, the CMS automatically serves necessary and appropriate content in a mobile-optimized theme. Best of all – we retained all site functionality on mobile including conference registration.

When users are logged into the conference platform they are given a personalized experience. Users can access their conference schedule at a glance or dive into the schedule and organize their sessions for each of the days they registered.
